Our 59000 series consists of 40 to 60 Shore A EPDM products. Very good sun, ozone, heat and ultra-violet resistance are the main feature of this polymer. EPDM has good tensile strength, good resistance at low temperatures and superior resistance to water and steam. It is a colour-stable material. Those physical properties make EPDM the number one choice for o’ rings on electrical equipment, and for steam, gardening and radiator hoses, weather strip for automobiles, etc. However, EPDM has poor resistance to oils, fuel and hydrocarbon solvents.

A peroxide-cured EPDM, designed for extreme applications, as well as a 65 Shore A diaphragm designed for applications where good resistance to tear and weather is important, are also part of our 59000 series.

Each product in this series has been tested according to ASTM D-2000 methods. Detailed data sheets stating the results obtained to these tests are available upon request.

We can develop a specific compound for your applications. For more information, please contact your technical advisor.
